THE PROGRAM
- Meet New Friends
- C.Y.A. Certified Instructors
- C.Y.A. CANSail Program offering CANSail 1 to CANSail 6 instructional levels,
Teen Sailing and Young Salts
- Monday through Friday
- Fleet of sailboats include: 420's, Optimists, Escape Mangos, Laser IIs and 29er’s
OTHER ACTIVITIES
- Activity Nights, most Thursdays at the Clubhouse
- Weekend Races
- Exchange Regattas with other clubs
- Awards Nights at end of July and August
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum age of 9 as of December 31st for CANSail Programs (Age 8 for Young Salts)
- Junior sailors’ immediate families must have a Sailing Membership with LBSC
Programs are offered on a weekly basis for 8 weeks
- Morning classes are 9 am to 12 noon
- Afternoon classes are 1 pm to 4 pm.
- Classes fill quickly and requests are prioritized based on the date the completed application, a signed release and payment are received.
- Please bring your own Government approved life jacket, towel and change of clothes.
- Footwear must be worn at all times
- Sailors must be able to swim 50 yards and tread water or float for five minutes
- Swimming tests will be given on the first day of lessons
- If space is available, houseguests of sailing membership families are welcome to participate provided the age and swimming requirements are satisfied and a release is signed
