SUMMER 2026 INSTRUCTORS
Tom Coxford - Head Instructor
Hey everyone! My name is Tom Coxford and I am thrilled to be the Head Instructor at the Lake of Bays Sailing Club for the 2026 summer season. This will be my 14th summer at the club and 5th as a coach, and I am already counting down the days till we’re all out of classes and back in sailboats! There is no place on earth that is more important to me than LBSC and I cannot wait to get started and get to work!
Danielle Dunn - Race Team Operations Manager, CANSail 4
Danielle is looking incredibly forward to returning to LBSC for her fifth summer as an instructor. While she loved leading the staff behind the scenes last year, she’s super excited to be back on the water and helping plan and attend regattas. She has just wrapped up her third year studying Anatomy and Cell Biology at McGill, and when she’s not doing flashcards, you can usually find her at the lab, or going to concerts. She can’t wait for another summer at the cottage!
David Mauchan - CANSail 5/6, Senior Race Team
David is stoked to be back at the lake this summer after recently wrapping up his first year at Dalhousie University. Having spent the past year competing on the Dalhousie Sailing Team, he is excited to bring his racing experience back to the club. Back in action as our 5/6 Race Coach, David’s mission is to push the LBSC Race Team to new heights. David loves sharing his passion for sailing and is always eager to bring energy and fun to his lessons. When he’s not on the water, you can probably find him walking around the lake or playing hockey. He’s thrilled to be back on staff and is ready to make this summer one to remember!!
Devlynne Dunn - CANSail 3
Devlynne is so excited to be returning to LBSC for her 3rd summer as an instructor!! While she loved teaching young salts last summer, she is beyond thrilled to have the opportunity to teach CanSail3 and dip her toes back into two handed sailing. She just finished her first year at Concordia University in the Acting program and when she isn’t doing anything art related, she can be found at coffee shops or going on runs to prepare for sticks. She is looking incredibly forward to another unforgettable year at the club and cannot wait to get back up to LOB as soon as she can!
Samantha Cooke Sinclair - Junior Sailing Lead, CANSail 1
Sam is thrilled to be returning to LBSC for her 10th summer, this time as a Junior Lead! She is incredibly excited to spend another summer at the club. Sam is finishing her first year at Huron University in Economics. She can’t wait to get back to the water, after a long year of school and band!
Mac Stewart - IIT
Mac is super stoked to be instructing this summer at LBSC. He is currently finishing up his Grade 11 school year at Aurora High School and is absolutely thrilled to be back out on the water and out of the classroom. Mac has loved sailing since he was 6 years old, and is ready to share it with everyone at the club. Mac completed his Can 6 last year as well as his 3/4 Instructor Level. Mac loves racing and competing against other sailors in regattas while making lifelong memories along the way. He hopes he is able to create the same effect on the younger sailors at the club.
Alex Wallgren - IIT
Alex is super excited to be back this summer to help instruct as an IIT and to help others find the love for sailing she found when she was a camper of LBSC. Alex just finished her grade 11 year at HHS in Huntsville, where she co-taught volleyball. When Alex isn’t sailing, you can find her reading, hiking or sewing. She is so grateful to be back at the sailing club and is excited for the hopefully sunny days out on the water.
Brooke Healey - IIT
Brooke is beyond excited to spend her 8th year at LBSC as an IIT! She is just wrapping up grade 11 at De La Salle college and she can’t wait to get on the water and share her passion for sailing! Brooke especially loves competing in off lake regattas and is hoping to attend CORK one last time this season. When not sailing, you can find Brooke soaking up some sun on the dock and spending time with friends!
Rachel Kerr - Young Salts
Rachel is super excited to be returning to LBSC and teaching Young Salts this summer!! She recently graduated from Havergal College and will be attending Western University in the fall to study Media and Communications. She loves being at the lake, sailing and making lasting memories. Rachel is looking forward to another great summer at the club!
Mateo Speirs - CANSail 2
Mateo is beyond excited to be returning to LBSC this summer to teach CanSail 2! He just finished his first year at the University of Toronto and can’t wait to get back on the lake. Mateo started at the club in 2014 and is thrilled to pass on his experience to the next generation of sailors. When he isn’t on the water, you can find him on the slopes, the tennis court, or playing hockey. Mateo can’t wait for a summer full of sailing and making memories at the club!
Emma Brown - IIT
This is Emma’s first year as an instructor at LBSC. She recently completed Grade 11 at Appleby College in Oakville and is looking forward to an incredible summer on the water. Emma has been sailing since she was 8 years old and is excited to be back at the club this summer as an IIT. Outside of sailing, you can find her on the tennis courts and enjoying time at the lake. She’s excited to help young sailors develop their skills and create a fun, memorable summer on the water.
Zane Rivietz - CANSail 1
Zane is excited to be back at LBSC this summer as an instructor! He’s finishing Grade 12 at Ramaz Upper School in Manhattan and is looking forward to another great season on Lake of Bays, teaching CANSail 1. In the fall, Zane will be attending Western University, making this summer an especially meaningful one. He can’t wait to get back out sailing with everyone!
Theo Russell - CANSail 4
Theo is back for another summer at LBSC and couldn't be more excited! Now finishing his second year of university at Western, he's counting down the days until he returns to the water. He's been reminiscing on photos from last summer all year and can't wait to make this summer even more memorable. See you on the lake!
Clare Healey - IIT
Clare can’t wait to spend her 8th summer at LBSC and she is super excited to be an IIT! She just finished grade 11 at De La Salle College where she enjoys playing soccer and being on the ski team. For Clare, nothing beats getting to sail with her friends all summer, especially going to regattas with them. She is looking forward to sharing this passion with the next generation of sailors and can’t wait to spend some quality time on the water!
Ava Russell - CANSail 3
Ava is thrilled to be instructing CANSail3 this summer, one of her most memorable levels as a sailor at LBSC! She has completed her first year studying International Development at Dalhousie university in Halifax and after a year of befriending the mice of Nova Scotia, she is ready to get back into sailing on Lake of Bays! She hopes for many windy days or “honk shows” and is looking forward to spending time with her fellow sailors and instructors!!! CAN3’s get your trap belts ready!
Madisyn Cooke Sinclair - IIT
Madisyn is super excited to be returning to LBSC as an IIT. She has just finished grade 11 at Trafalgar Castle School, where she played volleyball and field hockey. She has spent the past 10 summers at the club and can’t wait to be back at the lake for another amazing summer!
Jules Mann - Opti Race Team
Jules is very excited to be back for an 11th year at LBSC this summer as the CANSail 1 and Opti Learn to Race coach. Whatever it is, coaching, sailing or just chilling on the dock, he is always having fun and connecting with his sailors at Lake of Bays. He lives in Montréal, Québec, where the winters are freezing cold, but there are a ton of things to do. When not sailing, you'll find him mountain biking, climbing, skiing and generally in nature. LBSC has always been a second home for him and he can't wait to meet all the new sailors, and welcome back the returning ones!
Braeden Williamson - Opti Race Team
Braeden just finished his second year of university at Huron and is excited to return to LBSC and coach the opti race team. He had a great time with the team last summer and is prepared to push the group to new heights and even stronger racing results. He is stoked to make more memories with the team on and off the water.
Eamonn Wong - Maintenance
Eamonn is incredibly excited to return to LBSC as Maintenance this year. He has been sailing at LBSC for most of his life and has made many incredible friends and memories sailing. He is thrilled to continue to give back to this wonderful club and is looking forward to this summer. He’s just finished his second year of mechatronics engineering at Queens University and is excited to get back on the water.
